COLOR BELT LIFE SKILLS

Respect Respectful behavior is the glue that holds our society together. Unfortunately, we see more and more disrespect toward others, and ourselves and toward our institutions. Respect comes from having good internal values. Good internal values are the center of a rewarding, successful life.  By teaching respect for others, and ourselves we go a long way toward our goal of improving the world around us.
Attitude No one is born with attitudes.  They are developed, one piece at a time with our thinking, imagination and our responses to the events in our lives.
Discipline Positive Discipline is a program that teaches important social and life skills, in a manner that is respectful to both the adults and the young people in the situation - raising young people to be responsible, respectful and resourceful members of their community. It is based on the theory that children that have a sense of connection to their community (home, school) and whose input is regarded as meaningful are less likely to engage in "mis" behavior. To be successful members of the community children need to be taught the necessary social skills. It is based on the understanding that discipline must be taught and that discipline teaches.

Integrity Most often, people confuse telling the truth and being honest as integrity.  In fact, integrity is a way of life and comes from the heart.  Honesty and truth are things that are seen in someone who has good integrity.  Integrity requires persistence.  That is to hold true to your values, no matter where you are and no matter who you are with.
